How to remove created document types in Windows XP??

I created a program in MFC that creates document types (.doc is a document type for Word, .mp3 is a document type, etc etc..) and the document type was registered with Windows. Along with this registration, every time I right click on desktop I can create a new version of this document type, as well as it has somehow corrupted my .htm files, they have now 'become' this document type. So now the desktop icons look like the generic application icon.

Please help. This is annoying, and I can't find anything to help me on the internet.
