I'm a tech, and I made the mistake of putting an
AC line cord in my coat pocket. I've been carrying it
around for about 2 weeks now, and I just can't seem
to get rid of it. Every time I go outside with my coat
on, and put my hands in my coat pocket, it is there.
I'm afraid that I might steal it from my job if I were
to remove it when I go home. I had this same problem
for years with ball point pens, but now we just don't
use ball point pens ( I took all of them home ) except
for signing VISA cards. And there, the sales clerk
insists on pushing one at me. I think I've even taken
a few of them home. I've tried everything. I know that
my coat is nearby, but as soon as I get up, somebody
is going to have a computer problem, and the phone
will ring.

When the phone rings, don`t worry, you`ve already got
the cord for them, in your pocket <G>.

Don't remove it. Sell the coat.

When you solve that one, help me figure out how to psychologically let go of
the six to eight boxes of old computer parts still stacked in my garage.
All the machines I needed those parts for are up and running, and the only
broken machine in my house is two generations beyond any of the spare parts
available. I go out there twice a week and try to sort out which cords and
cables to get rid of, and always end up stuffing them back in the boxes in a
new arrangement and stacking them back up.

I set aside the space I want for whatever type of item. If it goes
beyond that space for that type of item, the less valuable of those
things gets given/thrown away. Plastic resealable bags can be useful
for computer cables and connectors. Good luck.

Johns, you could try mailing that power cable to work.
