A couple of years ago I had trouble removing "Dynamics GP 10.0" using
the Add/Remove program. I stumbled onto an article that showed me an
alternative method of removing installed programs from Windows without
using the Add/Remove program. I launched some native application on
Windows that listed all the installed programs and was able to remove
it that way (without messing with the registry). I cannot recall what
that application or folder is. Anyone know what I am talking about?
I am not talking about a 3rd party application. Thanks.

There are two such programs that can do it properly and very efficiently:

1) CCleaner and the download is here:

<http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim>

You need to use the Tools icon for this.

2) Revo Uninstaller: Download is here:

<http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html>

You want the free download version.

There isn't a native win application that removes programs, other than via
Add/Remove
You may be referring to the windows installer cleanup utility, a separate MS
download, this doesn't remove programs but only their installer files
