See this page for help. Post back if you have additional questions. Remember
if you want to remotely access/control a PC with Remote Desktop [RDC] the PC
must be running Vista Ultimate/Business or XP Pro/MCE. Vista Home (any
flavor) or XP Home can *NOT* act as a RDC host...

General help for Remote Desktop...

Vista Remote Desktop host with Vista or XP SP3 clients...

If the remote PC is running Vista Home (any flavor) or XP Home look at
UltraVNC as an alternative. Make sure you use the encryption plug-in.

In all cases (ie. RDC or VNC) use a strong password.

Hi, thank you,

it seems that in order to remote control my computer at home I have to
config the lan router for my remote desktop?

Regarding no-ip solution: can you advise me which service do you use to do
no-ip approach?

Thanks.

Yes, you need to forward TCP Port 3389 through any router or firewall the PC
you want to remotely access/control is behind. That is explained in the
first link I gave you.

I used to run with No-IP.com which worked very well for me. I no longer use
it simply because my new Windows Home Server includes a free homeserver.com
domain name that I can use to remotely access my home LAN.

WHS is built on a version of Windows 2003 Server AFAIK.

I don't know about running Virtual Server on a WHS machine. Check with the
WHS experts over on the WHS discussion forums...
