How to remember previous field entries...

Prior to reinstalling XP, all field entries would be
remembered in future sessions but now this is not the
case.

For example, If the field was name and I had previously
entered Joe, when I type "j" in the same field in a new
session it would automatically list "Joe" as an option I
would select.

This also seems to be affecting the "remember password"
option because I select yes when prompted but it does not
remember the password in the next session. I'm not sure
if this is an XP or IE setting but I assume there is
something I can change to make this work again.

Thanks.

From your IE6 Help button.....search for autocomplete.
Use your online Help files to find simple things.

To adjust AutoComplete settings

You can configure AutoComplete to save and suggest only
the information you want. You can choose whether to use
AutoComplete for Web addresses, forms, and passwords, or
not use it all. You can also clear the history for any of
these.

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet
Options.
Click the Content tab.
Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
Select the check boxes for the AutoComplete options you
want to use.

For whatever it is worth, I did check help and the Kb
before posting this but I was searching for "remember
password" and not "auto complete".

I checked the settings and all options are already
checked. Any idea why the settings would not be working
correctly if they are checked?

Thanks.
