I recently bought a new DELL Dimension and wanted to install Front Page 2003
from my old laptop. I purchased the product recently online so I do not have
a CD with a product registration key unfortunately. Is there a way of
uninstalling the product from my laptop and downloading the files to my new
computer?

I've never purchased software like that so I have to ask - who did you
purchase it from? When you downloaded it from whatever site, weren't there
some sort of directions on how to create a backup disk?

Hi JoAnn,
I can't recall where, but I think I purchased it from Microsoft or a
reputable supplier. I have successfully puchased most of my software that way
(Norton Internet Security 2005, etc.). After giving them the required
information (name, credit card info, etc.) the .exe install files are
downloaded and the program installs after that process.

Regarding the documentation, part of the problem is when I moved files to
the new computer from my laptop, I somehow lost the email confirmation
(documentation). I do however have the Product ID copied from the software
and I recall having to do something like this before where you uninstall from
one machine and install to another. I just don't want to uninstall it from my
laptop until I can be sure to reinstall it from Microsoft.

Thanks for trying

You could try contacting MS (by e-mail) and ask them for suggestions. It's
worth the price of the e-mail.

This is another one of those painful but valuable lessons. When given the
choice, it's always better to download a file than to run/install it online.
Downloaded, you have it for later. Elsewise, you're usually SOL.

And burn it to a CD along with any email order details, etc.
