Hi,

I am transfering a table from another database on my c:
drive to my database (Lets call it Master Database) which
is on the same drive or computer.

I do this by a macro using the "transfer database" action
with the following settings in the -Action arguments-
grid:

Transfer Type: Import
Database type: Access
Database name: C:\Datasource\Logicom.SDB
Object type: Table
Source: tCustomers
Destination: CustomerInfox
Structure Only: No

All this works fine. What I am doing is importing a table
that simply Accounting created called Logicom.sdb where
my accounting data resides. At least I think this is what
is going on. The object of this is to import my customer
data from Simply Accounting to Access. I still don't know
why Simply calls it SDB and not MDB.

Anyhow, the Master Database works fine and my tables gets
tranfered with success. However, I have a copy of the
Master Database on an other machine (Lets call it machine
#2) which is on a network with my first machine. When I
try to run the macro on the second machine I get an error
from the "Database name" action argument. It somehow
doesn't see the path. Basically what I would like to do
is to import the table from simply to my Master data base
but doing this remotely from machine #2.

The error I get is:
C:\DATASOURCE\Logicom.SDB is not a valid path. Make sure
that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are
connected to the server on which the file resides.

Basically I would like to know what path I would have to
enter in the "Database name" action argument.
OH Yeah, One more thing, On computer#2 my database is
only the front end and the tables are linked to a back
end database in computer#1 just as is the Master database.

I hope this is not too complicated guys, let me know if
you want me to be clearer on this.

Thanking you in advance!
Bob

You should relink your tables using UNC notation, ie
\\ComputerName\ShareName\FolderName\Logicom.sdb
or have the same network drive mapping on both computers. UNC method is
preferred.
