My friend's computer's motherboard failed. He purchased a laptop to replace the old desktop. He has asked me to help him recover his address book that has over 400 contacts. He had purchased several versions of Office due to his job and his wife. I have his hard drive connected to my pc as a slave, due to the fact that I can not get it to boot on my pc. If I could just get the file open and print off the names or anything to help him from losing all of those contacts would be a life saver. Thank you in advance for whom ever can help me.

Hope your friend has learned that there is a good reason to make backups
constantly.

If the hard-drive hasn't crashed, then you have no issues. Simply
navigate to his profile - so if his drive is mounted on your machine as
say, E: drive, then go to

E:\Documents & Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

And recover the .pst files from there. Import those into his laptop's
Office installation.

Also look in:

E:\Documents & Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures

for signatures, and some other files (favorites etc) in:

E:\Documents & Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

I believe all this is documented somewhere on MS's KnowledgeBase if you
want to look for it.

Good luck.
