ZIP one file format. Just read the instructions at the site.

Forgot to add, after download, unzip the files to: C:\Windows\Media directory.

Right click start -> Explorer
In you C drive click the + sign beside it
Once the directory opens, look to see if there is anything in the Media
folder
Yes there are sound files = you can probably fix your system by running
system restore and selecting a date from when your sound used to work.
No there are no sound files = you probably have to reinstall Windows.

I suppose you can try Active@ Undelete recovery tool to bring lost
files back. That worked for me before, I'm pretty sure you will also
find it useful.
