As I am told my motherboard has died (power drops off
within 30 secs of switching on)I need to access the hard
drive by some means.
If I were to connect it as a slave on my kids computer (it
runs from the same copy of Win Me)would I be able to easiy
access it or what would be the likely pitfalls?
Or if I were to buy the same motherboard again and
connected all the components as before, would it boot
straight up?
Any advice gratefully received.

yes to both questions.

btw, one copy of the OS per machine.

How sure are you that it's the motherboard? The power supply might also be
a good candidate.

One copy of OS per machine? Is that a copyright issue?

Yeah Paul, you need to run out and purchase another copy because Bill Gates
needs to add to his $45 billion dollar empire.

Perhaps you should invest in Microsoft since Bill Gates and others
have to answer to the stockholders as well if their own earnings are
not high enough...or do you just want to complain about another's
success?
