How to recover corrupted e-mail archive of OL???

Could anyone help me with repairing/recovering the e-mail archive made in OL? When I try to open it, the message appears
File archive.pst in not personal records file... something like file type doesn't match

Is there any tool for repair of this archives

How do you open the file? File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
The repair tool is called scanpst.exe. By default you can find it here;
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\<locale id>
