How to recolor to Black and White in PowerPoint 2007

Using PowerPoint 2007, we had slide charts that were solid pictures. We
needed the colors changed to black and white without any shades of gray. I
used the Recolor functions, but there was no Black\White option. I ended up
going back to PPT 2003 to get the slides recolored the way we needed them.
We file patents with the USPTO and they do not permit shades of gray in
their drawings as they are not clear enough to discern the details. How can
we recolor to pure black and white in Office 2007? Please tell me this can
be done.
 
The B/W settings in PPT 2007 are broken for charts.

You could apply a different -- a black and white -- color scheme. Those can
be changed on the Design tab. Click the Colors button.
 
Thank you for confirming that the black and white doesn't work the way it
used to. What a bummer. The design tab colors button options wasn't any
help because it wouldn't let me change the individual colors on a chart.
Looks like we'll keep a version of PPT 2003 on a resource computer in some
nearby corner. Thanks again.

Yeah, you'd have to globally change to a B/W color scheme. But if your chart
colors are mapped to your color scheme appropriately, you should be able to
apply a B/W scheme and have it do what you need. (That's easier said than
done, though, I know.)

Of course you can recolor each series in each chart manually. Tedious and
time-consuming, but doable.

I think keeping 2003 around for this is a fine, fine workaround! It's most
definitely what I do.
