Have installed two SATA discs

The first one is my XP system, the second one in partioned in two sections

Can I mirror the first disc to the second partition on the second disc and
if so how ?

I have looked at the bios settings and if seems that if I set the bios to
RAID in mirror, the first disc copies to the the whole of the second disc
and I am scared that I will over write the partions and not just to one so I
have not tested this

Any help would be grateful

Normally one forms a RAID array BEFORE writing anything to a pair of disks.
This is a BIOS level function of the motherboard (or RAID contoller card, if
separate PCI card). Unless the instructions say that you can make a RAID
array after data is written to one of the disks, I would not try it, as the
risk sound large.

However, you might be able to save an image of each partition with software
like GHOST, then make the RAID array, then reload the image. If somehting
goes wrong, split the RAID, FDISK/FORMAT or XP equivalent, then reload the
image and get back where you started.
