I have a stand alone game (Stratego).
I would like to put it into the Games group under
Programs so I can start it from Games.
Does anyone know how this is done with
Windows XP? It could be done with Windows 98.
Thanks.
The contents of the "Start" menu reflect the contents of a specially
designated folder structure on the computer's hard drive. The "Start"
button's context menu offers a convenient way to access that folder
structure. The presence of a shortcut within that folder structure
results in the appearance of an item in the "start" button menu system.
Sub-menus correspond to nested sub-folders.
Once the "Start" button menus are open you can drag shortcuts to the
desired location in the menu system.
IF you don't have a shortcut for the application right click on the
executable's icon (to open the context menu) and click the option to
create a shortcut on the desktop.
Right click "Start" button on task bar to obtain the context menu.
Click "Explore" (for individual user) or "Explore all users".
Use the left pane of the Windows Explorer window to open the sub-menu
where you want the shortcut to appear.
Drag the shortcut from the desktop to the right pane of the Windows
Explorer window. You can use the right mouse button to drag the icon IF
you want a context menu with the option to leave a copy of the shortcut
on the desktop.
