I have a small office network with ~25 client PCs all running WIN XP Pro.
Our servers run WIN 2000. While preparing to install Symantec Client
Security 3.1 on the server and then push to the clients, I noticed that some
of the clients have SP1 and some have SP2 and all the Windows Update settings
vary.
How can I take control of the Windows Updates via the server so all the
clients are kept in-sync? In particular, how can I first get them all to SP2?
If it helps/matters, we have WIN Server 2003 software sitting unopened, but
otherwise ready for use on our servers (don't ask). Should I migrate to WIN
SERV 2003 or will it matter for day-to-day network maintenance? Is there yet
another (MS Windows) OS that is preferred for servers these days?
Thanks all.
