How to protect the document

hi i am a student of BITS- Pilani, i want to protect the document i have to
get edited by the user.
Like i have desiged a form, all the labels i have i want user should not be
able to edit them, but he can be able to add information like if there is a
lable for Name then he should be able to write something in that field after
the label.
the current option of protect document if i use then it lock the whole
document, but i want some fields to be edited.
how can i do it, is there any facility you have in microsoft word ?

The idea of form fields is that they are filled by the user rather than
edited. If you want an editable area then divide the document with section
breaks and protect only the sections with the fields.
