Hello people,

I just wanted to know how can I lock a microsoft powerpoint file to avoid
editing.
When I put a password, it ask for a certificate or to install a security
issue in order to open the file. But I just need a simple way to only save it
as a read-only file.

Not Digital Signatures.
Type in a password on "Password to modify".
Then, click Ok.
You will be prompted to confirm your password for the second time.
Type in the password, click Ok.
Save the presentation.

I recommend a great approach to do this: just zip it with password using
WinZip (http://www.winzip.com)

Directly putting restriction in PowerPoint needs Microsoft Rights Management,
it's sort of complicated to get its client app to run.

Another way to protect powerpoint file: convert it to Flash file thru
PPT2Flash (http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash.html) or other video
formats.
