runing xp pro as a file and print server, how to protect the printer so i
can allow 3 clients to access it and disallow the others?

hello Ben
there's no security tab!!!
the available tabs are :
General - Sharing - Ports - Advanced - Color Management - Printer - About
under these tabs, there's no any security option too

note: i use the built-in administrator account with full privileges

Set permissions on the share.

The reason there is no tab is because Simple File Sharing is on.

Instead, set a password on the Guest account, and supply that password to
authorised users.

net user guest <password>

from a command-prompt is the simplest approach.
