Hi

How do you stop someone from editing your document? I need to email a
document to many people, but they must not be able to change the
document in any way. This includes not allowing them to make changes
to the document and then "Save As" a different file. Is there any way
to do this?

Thanks
Jimi

Jimi,

Password protecting a Word document does not prevent
someone from modifying it and saving it to a new name.
Your best recourse would be creating and sending a PDF.
The PDF document does at times create heartburn in the
recipient because they cannot peek between the lines and
see what makes it tick.

Hi Jimi,

Word 2003 offers a way to do this. But the recipient must have Word
2003 installed (or the "viewer" that MS has said they will make
available).
