Make an email, then use the ! to mark it as High Importance. The ! is on
the toolbar.

hi, i did use the ! to make it Importance High but when i send an email to
one of my own addresses there doesn't seem to be any difference than sending
a usual email. There isn't anything on the email that makes me think that its
particularly important or urgent.

The recipient will be able to see a Red ! in their Importance column of
their Inbox. That is if they show that column in their Inbox.

They can also make Rules that react to High Importance emails.

I see many people set a protocol in their organisation to write URGENT in
the subject line rather than use the !

do you use outlook to check the acct you tested it with? Not all email
clients support it - but if the recipient uses outlook, they will see the !
