Now, this is an original question.
Why not? Absolutely perfect. Instead of using a soft pencil to write on the
back of our old black and white photos, we should be able to print the
details of the picture file on a label and fix it to the back of the print.
Absolutely brilliant idea. You need to patent this right now. You just hit
the jackpot. I am not kidding.
The information is there, but as far as I know, no software offers to print
it on a label automatically to glue it to the back of a photo.
Lots of software to display this information and view it or print it, but
not on a label ready to print and fix on the back of the picture.
Somebody like Avery Label should get on it. They make labels for everything.
Nothing for them to extract the already existing data and have a label to
print it on. What a great idea. Everybody is thinking about saving the
information in the computer. But you are different. You know people want
prints and since the info about the photo is already there in the computer,
why not a program to extract it, print it on a label and fix it on the back
of the printed photo. Just like making a label for a music CD!
Brilliant. Contact Avery and see about making your idea come true.
Until then (or maybe somebody knows that it can be done) what you can do is
right click on the photo. Click on properties. A window will open, giving
you all the details about this photo. Click on the top bar (blue area of the
window to make it the active window on your desktop) and then hold the Alt
key down and press the Prt Scr key down. This will copy the information to
the Windows Clipboard.
Once this is done, open your word processor program, Microsoft Word, Word
Perfect, Word 2000, etc. any will work or open Paint. After opening any of
them, click on Edit and click on Paste.
After clicking on Paste, the picture information will be displayed. You then
have to print, cut the paper, apply some glue and fix it to the back of the
photo.
Avery could do all this in a snap. Select a bunch of photos, select the
Avery software and here you are. All the labels printed. All you have to do
is lift each label and apply it to the back of each photo!
You made my day with such a question. Hope you follow through on my
suggestion to contact Avery.
