Hi! I am using ethernet for few years already, but
lately evrything become very slugish,I run through all
the routine procetures but didnot get anywhere.
maybe someone can point out to me how to optimize the
ethernet so it can run faster at maximum speed? (say
100mbs)right now I only get no more then 1mbs, it's too
slow,
my ethernet switch is 10/100base T and indicator shows
100mbs green light, why the actual bit rate is so slow?
please help?

Optimization is not the right word. You have to find and repair
the defect. Normally there isn't much to optimize in TCP/IP.

Any of the elements could be defective. A cable could have a
loose contact, the switch could be broken or one of the Ethernet
adapters. It could even be a software problem, please check
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxNetwork.htm for details.

Assuming you have two computers, can you get a third computer
for testing? Then you could find out which of the two has
something to do with the cause.
