How to open up .lnk files

My aunt sant me photos of their in .lnk , but my OE wont let me open it up

I get this message "OE REMOVED ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING UNSAFE ATTACHMENTS IN
YOUR MAIL: new folder.lnk

Would like to know how i can get this file open ,my aunt and her husband are
frustrated as am I , because when they send me items like pictures of article
I have no problem, but this is a problem ..please HELLLLPPP!!
 
even if it was a folder... like "new folder.lnk"
OE wouldnt allow it to be opened because when my relatives usually send me
stuff , its all jpg/jpeg , but this was a .lnk folder

ah-ha...i now get it ...LNK Files.. LINK files ....thats why ...(im still
learning this!)
 
You know that this problem is because it was a .LNK file; however, there is
a setting in OE that will not allow you to open or save files that could
potentially contain a virus. If you run into this situation again and
cannot download a file you know is OK, on the OE toolbar, click Tools,
Options, Security Tab and unmark the 4th item.
