How to Open Ports

Ports in the operating system are generally opened by installing the
associated application/service that uses them. If you have a firewall/router
installed, then you will have to configure the firewall to allow traffic on
those ports/protocol in the direction you need - inbound or outbound
initiated traffic. --- Steve
