Hi,
I have problem connecting to a VPN server. I searched all over the web sites
and understand that I need to open up port 1723 and ip protocol 47 on the
firewall, and I know to open up the port 1723 is just using Add Port on the
Windows Firewall Settings page under Exceptions. However, I don't know how to
open IP Protocol 47? Some web pages said it is not a port, then how to I open
that? Appreciate the help.

You may need to set up a firewall rule with 'Windows Firewall with Advanced
Security'

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Windows Firewall with Advanced
Security

Click on 'Inbound Rules' left pane
Then right-click on 'Inbound Rules' > New Rule.. > Custom > ...
On the 'Protocols and ports' screen, choose 'GRE' in the 'Protocol type'
dropdown box.....

Hi guys. Actually, you can do this through the regular Windows Firewall. On
the Exceptions tab, click "Add port" and then give it a name, put 47 as the
port number, and select TCP. That should do it!

Thanks for posting,
Gloria
