I am trying to open mail saved with the pst. extension on my personal home
computer. Mail was saved on a flash drive from Microsoft mail 2003. I
currently do not have outlook on my home computer. Is there someway that I
can import the mail from the flash drive onto my home computer. For internet
services I usually sign on to AOL or Internet Explorer.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Then you can't open the file. The ONLY application that will open a pst file
is Outlook.
There is an alternative - download and install the Trial version of Office
and open the pst file with that.
You can then import the mail into one of a number of free email clients such
as OE, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird.

I have about the same problem as Diane.
I had a diskcrash on my computer (running XP and Outlook) and bought a new
(running Windows 7). On this I intend to run Windows Live Mail, but have
problem with getting the old mails and contacts from the old .pst file. In
Windows Live Mail I tried to import the addressbook, but got the result "Can
not find Outlook addressbook". Have i placed the .pst file in the wrong
directory? Where should it be placed.
To be able to get my old mail I tried to install the trial version of
Outlook. And got the whole Office - except Outlook!? I already had Office
Home and Student installed. Is this creating problems?

You cannot import a PST into Windows Live Mail. You must have Outlook
installed and properly configured to reference the PST before you can move
data between Outlook and Windows Live Mail.

If you have some problem with pst file. You can try to fix your pst
file.A third part repair tool called Advanced Outlook Repair may be
helpful. You can download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe
.. I think it is a useful repair tool for you. It is easy to recover
your PST file by using its wizard. It is a powerful tool to recover
messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft
Outlook PST files.

Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at
