Hi,

I have a mini HTML site on a shared server at work, it's not on the internet.

I've added a link to a Powerpoint file and when clicked, I want the file to
open and for the user to be able to edit it and save-as, however each time it
opens it's a slide show which you have to click through.

Is there any way to do this please?

Thanks.

What is the file saved as ppt or pps? Also which version of PowerPoint are
you using?

You can't really control how PPT opens in the browser. You may need to teach
your users to right-click and Save Target As. Or you could provide them with
a ZIP file, since that won't open in the browser the way PPT files will
often do.

This may help explain:

Control how the browser opens PowerPoint files

Thanks to both of you.

It's 2003 and is saved as ppt.

A little trick is to .ZIP the file. It will open the zip dialgoue from which
they can open or save the file.
