Daniel Walzenbach

Hi,

I'd like to know how I can nominate somebody as a MVP? I've checked the MVP FAQ but haven't found anything (@ least not on the german one...)

Thank you!

Best regards

Daniel Walzenbach

P.S. If you need to contact me simply remove ".NOSPAM" from my email address.

Feel free to post any names here (or mail them to me) and I or some
other MVP can pass it on to the right person. Please also include the
reason for the nomination (i.e. how/where the person is active) if it
isn't something obvious like the MS newsgroups.

Hi Daniel,

From a recent correspondence:

<quote>
I am the Microsoft MVP Lead responsible for the German language MVPs.

Hi

I have a few more doubts
a) Can some1 nominate one-self for MVP
b) Does active participation in Microsoft Usergroups local
to one's country(India-DotNetSig/BDotNet/Chennai.Net
etc...) matter or only MSDN NewsGroups matter
c) Is it necessary to public tech papers/articles/books to
become a MVP
d) When is the selction process(the MS site i went thru is
not very informative, though i got a prompt response for
my email to MVP Awards mail id)

regards,

jeff

Yes, I believe we have a number of user group leaders as MVPs.

c) Is it necessary to public tech papers/articles/books to
become a MVP
No

It changes from time to time, but right now I believe it's once each
quarter. The last round was at the beginning of October, and the next
one should be early next year.

(e-mail address removed) (remove no.spam.) should be able to answer
additional questions about the MVP program.

MVP selection criteria is varies somewhat among the product groups. In the
Visual FoxPro group we have MVPs who offer online support only in
non-Microsoft forums. We have some MVPs who don't do much online support at
all but support the community immensely in other ways such as preparing an
excellent free newsletter.
d) When is the selction process

I think this also varies among the product groups. Previously, MVPs were
only selected to be awarded in October. Now, as Mattias said, MVPs can be
awarded at other times during the year.

Hi Mattias/Cindy

Hi (e-mail address removed),
One last question.

I don't know who at the MS-end is responsible. But you
might look for Shyam Pillai or Geetesh B(-soemthing, can't
remember his last name) in the powerpoint newsgroup on
microsoft.com and see if they can tell you.
