How to navigate without a mouse

Can anyone tell me how to navigate without the mouse?
On my new XP installation, I can't get past the opening
page where I need to choose an account, because the mouse
won't work. Don't know if screen is frozen or if mouse is
not working.

On the outside chance that your mouse is a USB mouse, make sure "Legacy USB
support" is enabled in your system BIOS. Otherwise, just use a common PS/2
mouse while you are installiing, then reconnect your USB mouse after you
have successfully installed XP.
