Incorrect
FP uses 2 temp folder locations
1) The Windows Temp folder for Errors and logs
- controlled by right clicking My Computer for Properties - Advanced - Environment Variables
Edit or create the TEMP and TMP variables (pointing to an exiting folder on any drive) in both User and System variables
2) The IE Temp folder (for the super hidden FrontPageTempDir folder) for open page temp files
- In IE Tools Internet Options General - Settings - Move Folder
Select an existing folder on any drive
But I agree neither is usually a large folder (for FP) but both can be huge for IE and Windows generated files
- usually the lack of space on C drives comes much sooner from the location of the My Documents and My Webs folders (both of which
are also movable to any drive - thus saving a lot of space on the C drive)
A large space consumer is the location used by FP is for it's web cache files in
%AppData%\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
- Those files can get pretty large and there is no harm in deleting them all periodically
- That one is not movable w/o registry hacks since it is part of %USERPROFILE% (the Documents and Settings folder),
- To see info on moving all or part of the Documents and Settings folder see

| No
| However if your webs are "disk based" you can move the webs to D:\ .
