How to move files and system to new HD, system XP, please!

I installed 160 GB SATA Seagate on computer running
system XP, but every time I tried to use Seagate software
to move all files to the new one, Windows XP is just
block and prevent Seagate software or even Maxtor
software to perform. Could you help me, please.

Make sure the hard drive is not write protected...
