how to move favorites in IE to new computer

I have a complete image of my drive from an IBM on an external hard drive. I
want to get my favorites from the IBM to another computer. I setup the same
user name on the new computer as on the old but when I try to go to documents
and settings\user on the backup it says "access denied" I can get to any
other folder except this one.
