How to minimize the window during pOwer point viewer?

Hello,

I am beyond frustrated with how to fix this. I'm hoping someone here can
help me.

I have created a tutorial through a 1200 power point presentation/show I
have produced. It is interactive, meaning it's filled with hyperlinks and
action buttons the user can click on in order to navigate through the
tutorial. The tutorial/show is filled with timed slides, and hyperlinks.

My problem is that in order to make this tutorial user-friendly, I need to
know a way that users can minimize the window of the power point viewer.
When I copy the shows to CD, I'm having it viewed through the power point
viewer so that: a) when they put the disc in the computer, the tutorial
immediately comes up and b)It has a more professional look to it (I don't
want it to come up as a power point presentation would, meaning I don't want
them to see the presentation in the "modify" form- with the slide sorter,
etc.).

It seems like such a simple thing, but I'm having such a hard time with this
one. I'm hoping to gain more insight here.

Thank yoU!

Did you SAVE AS > type "PowerPoint Show *.pps" (scroll down in the save as
type box to find this.)

Yes, I saved it as a show rather than a presentation. I did this for two
reasons.

1) once the user puts the CD into their computer, I wanted the beginning
show to immediately play in order to eliminate any confusion regarding what
file they were to open (there are about 20 files within the tutorial).

2) I didn't want the users to be able to see the tutorial in the"modify"
form- I don't want them to have the ability to change/edit the work in either
way.

The PPT 07 viewer (latest and greatest) won't allow you to play a
presentation in a Window. (Thanks Microsoft) The best you can do is
minimize it to the taskbar.

You loose some of the features of the newer versions of PPT. :-(
Good Point :)

heh - 'needinghelp'... what version are you using?

It's the 2003 version.

I have to say, I find it incredulous that Microsoft doesn't give the user
the option of minimizing a Power Point Viewer window....or the fact it's not
even going to be considered a window on the desktop....

How does one minimize it to the taskbar?
