Hi:

My customer request me to provide how much bandwidth required by my
application (For both Winform and Asp.net application).

I've no idea how to measure it. Please advice.

Thanks

JCVoon,

In my idea a stupid question. Probably he is talking about his Lan.

Only to answer for 1 user given for a specific technologie as Ethernet, Arc,
Tokenring or etc connected direct on the server.

But can you explain it a little bit more, not that I can give you an answer,
but you have in my idea given to few information for everone.

Thaks for your reply.

My customer plan to use VPN to connect to our intranet application (web
base) and they need to know what is the expected bandwidth so that they
can decide what kind of lease line to adopt.

And for windows base application running on LAN, they also want to know
the bandwidth. This is all the info that they have provide to me, and
i've no idea why they need this kind of measurement.

What I can think of is to use performance monitor to track the Network
Interface Bytes Sent/sec and Bytes Received/sec over time, but how to
calculate the bandwidth from those figure ?

Hi,

Mercury's LoadRunner application can measure the bandwidth used by your
application in most protocols (like HTTP). I'm not sure if the trial
download from mercury.com will show total throughput, but the full
version will.
