In an enterprise, how do you manage the local adminsitrator account
(password and name) on the NT Workstation/Win2k? We want to have a
different secure password for each workstation and we want to be able to
change and remember the password if we have to give it out for legitimate
support reasons.

Thanks,

Joe

This sort of can be done through group policy so it can be chagned domain
wide, the problem is the passwords being different. You may need third party
tools for this.

You may find this link helpful using a startup script that uses the cusrmgr
Resource Kit tool. Keep in mind that you do not want users to be able to
navigate to the sysvol folder to reads the script and hence see the
passwords. Since this is a startup script, users do not need any ntfs
permissions to it as long as the domain computers group has
read/list/execute permissions to it. --- Steve

Sorry, but you can't "sort of" set passwords at all using Group Policy.
