If you need a response, you'll find it here. Sending you an e-mail defeats
the purpose of using a newsgroup.

Basicly, networking in a peer-to-peer environment involves properly
installed NIC and protocols. Tcp/ip should be all you need and your protocol
configuration can be verified by using PING to confirm media connectivity
(ipconfig will confirm local NIC configuration). Since this is a workgroup,
specify same workgroup name for both systems.

W2K and XP are NT based operating systems, which means that anonymous logons
are disabled by default. File and Printer Sharing is required. You won't
connect from W2K unless you specify an account that exists at the target XP
system. Vice-versa is true as well. You can't connect as a user called
"JaneDoe" if that user doesn't exist at target.

XP has a firewall that may need to be configured appropriately.

1. On your XP machine, goto My Network Places->Set up a
Home or Small Office Network.

2. Follow the wizard and when prompted if you want a setup
floppy, say yes.

3. Use this setup floppy on your other machines (Win2k or
otherwise). The floppy will install any necessary
components and configure that PC to talk to the one that
created the floppy disc (your XP PC).
