How can I in Win7 and Windows Live Mail the Windows Live Photo Gallery the default for attaching photos, rather than My Documents/My Pictures?

The images that you see in both Windows Live Photo Gallery and Picasa 3 are
simply provided by links to your original images. These applications do not
normally duplicate your originals although they can optionally make backups when
images are altered.

AFAIK, what you're asking for is not possible....but I may be wrong.

you will have to associate
a file type to the program.

for example you will have
to associate jpg files to
the photo gallery program.

other picture types include
bmp, jpeg and tiff; to mention
a few.

so you will have to set each file
type above to photo gallery.

---------------

sometimes you can right
click on a pic of a particular
extension and set it to "open
with" a program and be sure
to select it as the default
program..

you would have to do the
above for each file type.

or you can open explorer,
file options, file types and
set each picture file type
to open with photo gallery.

Click on the Start Orb, then Control Panel - Programs - Default Programs
- Set Default Program. There you'll see a list of programs that are
installed on your PC, just click on Windows Live Photo Gallery then
click on 'Set this program as default'. This will associate all picture
formats (jpg, gif, tif, bmp etc...) to WLPG that it can handle.

Not possible..the difference being one is a folder that holds the pictures, the other is a program that displays the files in a
folder.

No amount of file association will change the above...you can not make a program a default folder for attaching pictures..anyone
that suggest otherwise is incorrect.

The op wants to change the default folder for selecting attachments not change the program that opens a file type.
