How to make the keys repeat in win xp

Sony Cpr, Win XP Home, New.


Holding down a key to get repeated characters doesn`t work. Have to
click the key each time.

Control Panel|Keyboard|Properties.
Adjusting the Character Repeat and trying to make a character repeat
works intermittently. Might get 2 characters then it stops.
It`s like the cpr was doing something else and the key action was
processed intermittently.
The Left-Right arrows work the same way.

That`s the best I can explain it.
Hope someone has an idea.

Take a look at "FIlterKeys" in Accessibilities Options. It sounds like this
may have been turned on accidentally.

Really appreciate all of you MSPs to help.
