How to make text flow into lower cells and be visible?

I am working in Excel 97 making an invoice. I want the text for the
DESCRIPTION COLUMN to flow downward as I type it. I have found out how to
do that much, but when I hit return all the text moves into the first cell
again(much of it hidden of course).

I highlight cells C1-C10\ format\cells\ Horizontal= Fill, Verticle= Top,
tet Controle=Wrap Text

Does anyone know how to make the text flow into the lower cells and stay
visible?
 
I suppose you don't want to merge the cells into a bigger cell whic
will have the word wrapping and height that you need to fit everythin
in
