How to make my desktop "movable"

Good morning,
I brought a new computer, and I don't want to reinstall and
reconfigure all the programs I have in the old one.
I know there is virtualization, that could help me avoid this (by
creating a virtual machine of my old PC, with VMware Converter, and
then transfer it to the new PC), but it is limiting, because I can't
play 3D games inside a VM, since it "sees" only a SVGA card...
Is there any other way to "transfer" my OS to the new PC?
Thanks

Make an image, apply the image, run a repair installation, finally boot into
Windows XP, install all the latest hardware frivers, use the Microsoft
Product Key Changer to change the product key to your legit one (if your old
product key for Windows XP was OEM - stuck on a stciker on the old machine
for example - you cannot transfer it to the new machine per the EULA - and
must purchase a new OEM license. If it was Retail - you can skip the change
product key part) and make sure it is patched. Done.

(BootItNG, TrueImage, Ghost, etc.)
