How to make IE6 default browser

I was using Opera 7.11 but had to dump it...now I can't get IE set-up as my
default browser...how do you do this...S
 
Hi Sue,

Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs and enable the option:
"Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser"
Close IE and open again. Click YES if you are prompted to set it as default
browser.

(or)

Download the .reg fix. Set Internet Explorer as default browser:
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg

* Use this only if IE is installed in its default location [c:\Program
Files\Internet Explorer] *

never get the dialog box asking me to set IE as the default bowser...S
 
Did you try the .reg fix?

No...it has a lot of registry changes so I was hoping to find a simpler
method...S

Sue,

Whenever you set IE as default browser, the same registry keys are affected
anyway. If you are afraid to import the .reg file, backup the registry and
merge the contents of the .reg file.
