User folders that are built into Vista, like "Pictures" and "Downloads"
re-sort themselves, automatically and spontaneously, whenever they are
updated (i.e., as soon as I create a new sub-folder or drag an item into the
folder, the new item is inserted in the correct position according to the
sort order chosen for that folder).
Folders that I create myself do not exhibit this behaviour. When I drag new
items into my own miscellaneous folders, they land wherever I happen to drop
them; newly-created sub-folders are inserted at the very bottom of the
folder. To sort them, I have to refresh the folder. (Some folders do not
even re-sort themselves if I click out of them and then click back in --
making it very hard to find files or sub-folders I have added.)
I want ALL my folders to sort themselves spontaneously, immediately when
they're updated with a new item, just like Vista's built-in user folders do.
How can I change a folder's behaviour to do this?
