How to make CD burner work?

Hi,

I have an Acer CDRW 8*4*32 inside my clone cp from 4 years ago. It used to
work on Windows 98 with Easy CD, but has never worked since I upgraded to
Windows XP. Acer's site seems to suggest there is no need to download a new
driver. How can I make the burner work on XP through the standard "image
task" in "my-computer"?
I would be greatful for any help.

Hi: I would say you need an updated driver. At your web site type in driver.com And see if there is one availablefor your unit.

I have an Acer 8x4x32 CDRW and it works fine with XP's built in burner.
I've also used DeepBurner, http://www.deepburner.com/

The burner drive is ATA/IDE, then the default Microsoft driver is the drvier
to use!!!
