After not using my computer (W2Kpro) for a week, I get a
BSOD 007 "Inaccessable Bootup Device" when I try to start
it up. BIOS and dark screen are OK: I get to 9 boxes on
the light screen; it stops, then goes to BSOD. Spent hours
on phone with Dell; says it's not a problem with the
hardware. Seems I need a bootup disk. Don't got one as
Windows was already on my unit when I bought it
refurbished. Anyone know how I can download what I need
from MS or another source? W2K is on my HD; I can also use
a CD or FD drive. To speed the process (I get tons of spam
anyway): (e-mail address removed). Thanx.

to repair a win2k installation
you merely boot off the win2k cd

there are a number of repair options

For the floppy to successfully boot Windows NT/2000 the disk must contain
the "NT" boot sector. Format a diskette (on an NT machine, not a DOS/Win9x,
so the NT boot sector gets written to the floppy), then copy ntldr,
ntdetect.com, and boot.ini to it; and possibly ntbootdd.sys. Edit the
boot.ini to give it a correct ARC path for the machine you wish to boot.

Or these may help you.
