How to make a label transparent

Did some research online on how to make the back color of a label to
transparent. However, I havn't found an easy solution to such a popular
feature. Any ideas or recommendation?

You might do a little more "research" as this has been asked and answer a
*lot* of times in thsi newsgroup as well as in blogs and online articles.
