I visit AP news website every day and a few times a day.
I wish to create a shortcut for AP website.
I could not figure out how to make a shortcut of IE6 websites.
Could someone tell me how? Satoshi

-----easy method----------
visit site.
in top toolbar.
pick "favorites".
pick "add".
---------------------------
to revisit website.
pick "favorites".
pick website.
----------------------------
To organize your favorite pages into folders

As your list of favorite pages grows, you can keep it
organized by creating folders. You might want to organize
your pages by topic. For example, you could create a
folder named Art for storing information about art
exhibits and reviews.

On the Favorites menu, click Organize Favorites.
Click Create Folder, type a name for the folder, and then
press ENTER.
Drag the shortcuts (or folders) in the list to the
appropriate folders.
If the number of shortcuts or folders makes dragging
impractical, you can use the Move to Folder button
instead.

It seems that my question was not clear.

I would like to place a website (ie6) shortcut on the desktop.
Instead of opening Favorites, I would like to click the URL shortcut to open
the website more quickly.

Open the web page in IE, click on the "E" symbol in the Address bar and drag
it to the desktop.

Here's a target line for your desktop shortcut:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://www.ap.org/

After creating the icon, you might want to right-click it, select
properties, and change to run in a maximized window.
