How to make a file downloadable

I am trying to put a powerpoint presentation on my home
page and make it so that it can be downloaded. I am
using office xp, is it possible to do this and if so does
anybody know how?

Add the file to your web, and create one or more hyperlinks to it. A Browser
downloads files. When you click on a hyperlink in a web page, you are
telling the browser to download the resource that is at that URL. Usually,
it's a file, such as an HTML file, or an image. In any case, whatever file
you point to with your hyperlink, it will request to download it.
