Hello all,
I have 2 computers in my house and i connect it both using a switch. Just a
few days ago i applied for a broadband internet connection and i manage to
connect it using my computer. For now i would like to share the internet
connection to the another computer using the windows internet connection
sharing (ICS) but i can't understand how to set it up. When i finished setup
it, the other computer still can't share my internet connection. Firstly, i
connect using a DSL modem n cat5 it to 1st port of the switch. The 2nd port
of the switch i connect to my computer and the third port directly to my
second computer. I set for the ICS but the second computer can't share my
internet connection. Can someone help me?

I'm sorry, but it isn't possible to use ICS with the setup that you
describe. ICS requires that you connect the DSL modem directly to a
network adapter on one of the computers. ICS won't work with the DSL
modem connected to the switch.

The simplest and most reliable way to share your Internet connection
would be to replace the network switch with a home broadband router.
Connect the DSL modem to the router's WAN (Internet) port. Connect
each computer to one of the router's LAN ports.

If you really want to use ICS with the switch, here's how to set it
up:

1. Choose one of the computers to be the ICS host, and the other to be
the ICS client.

2. Install a second network adapter in the ICS host. That adapter can
be an internal PCI card or an external USB adapter.

3. Connect the host's first network adapter and the client's network
adapter to the switch.

4. Connect the DSL modem to the host's second network adapter.

5. Enable ICS on the host's DSL connection.

Hi
You can use ICS but you are much better off replacing the switch with a
Cable/DSL Router .
Cable/DSL Router, is a device (size of a book) that connects between the
Internet's Modem and the networked computers.

This device Routes (direct) the Internet to the appropriate computer.

You can plug in 4 computers with cable, and many computers can connect
wirelessly to the Internet and between them self (Network Sharing).

The system would be connected like this,

More about Routers here, http://www.ezlan.net/routers1.html

When using DSLThe Router can be set to maintain the connection On without
log on.
