I just finished connecting my first client to the windows 2003 (SBS) server.
The
security level of this client for internet sites is fixed on high: preventing
me from downloading files, using actice X etc. When I try to lower the
security bar to normal, it jumps back to high with a messagebox telling me
that the security setting is high. I tried to fiddle a little with the GPO
settings on the server, but I have been out of luck. How is it done??
I was advised to post here in stead of in the win 2003 sbs newsgroup, so I
hope I posted correctly.

How are you changing the settings, in IE it's self, or through Internet
Settings in Control Panel? If you wont the settings to stick, use Control
Panel.

Thanks for you answer, but it makes no difference if I try to change the
security setting from control panel. Directly after I drag the slider to
normal it jumps back to high presenting me with a Messagebox that states that
security is set to high.

In control panel, goto internet option, click on the security tab, highlight
the internet
choose custom settings and manually enable active-x.

Thank you! Setting the level to 'normal' after pressing the Custom Settings
button did the trick! It still gets me nettled however that I dont understand
WHY this happened. On the other clients I connected to win 2003 SBS the
security setting is set to Normal by default.
