If you are the only administrator, then right click the file or
folder, go to the security tab and be sure you are the only one with
access.
If there are other administrators, then you could use encryption but
it gets kinda complicated ensuring that the administrator cannot
recover the file - i.e., decrypt it. With XP that is default behavior.
Also, an admin could delete the file even if it is encrypted.
Personally, I use PGPdisk. It is free, stronger, easy to use and
pretty well bulletproof except that the entire PGP disk could be
deleted by an admin. I also like having the ability to have different
passwords as sometimes you want to give someone your computer logon
password but still keep some files private. Of course if your guest
logs in with your name/password then they can access the file if you
are using Windows encryption.
